Large Italian cast aluminum vase from the 80s

Description

In the 1980s, Italian design explored sculptural volumes with continuous lines. Cast aluminum allowed for free, solid forms, conceived as much for space as for materiality.

Polished cast aluminum, then mechanically finished. The asymmetrical silhouette, pierced by a large central opening, reflects the formal explorations of the decade, somewhere between a decorative object and an almost architectural piece. Designer unknown; typical work of Italian workshops specializing in decorative metalwork.

The condition is good. Some surface scratches are visible, mainly in the most exposed areas. They are discreet and contribute to a patina consistent with the age of the piece. No dents or damage.

The vase measures approximately 46 cm in height, 11 cm in width and 35 cm in length. Its size gives it a strong presence without being excessive.

It can be used alone, placed on the floor or on a low piece of furniture, or with a simple floral arrangement. It also works very well as a sculptural object in a contemporary or more minimalist interior.
