Description
An evocative stone sculpture of the female form by Danish artist, Misja Kristoffer Rasmussen (b.1971). Carved from warm, honey-toned stone that embodies a classical sculptural tradition with a contemporary sensibility. A weathered textured surface is contrasted against a plinth in black slate. Rasmussen trained at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera in Milan and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Athens. He shows a deep understanding of classical Greek sculptural traditions that he merges with his own contemporary artistic expression and typically works in clay before casting in bronze.
