Description
The Skep pendant draws inspiration from the humble woven skep beehive, once used by peasants in ancient times to house their bees. Just as no two bees ever built the same hive, each Skep light is unique, shaped by hand-bent steel.
The bark of ancient oaks, gathered from trees that have fallen naturally, is soaked and boiled to release a dark, tannin-rich dye. This dye is used to soak each sheet of paper to make this warm earthy colour. The Momigami paper, is then stretched across the frame
Each lamp is handmade, with no two being exactly alike. Subtle variations in symmetry and form are part of its unique character.
