From the exhibition Tactile Dialogues, from MDW 2025. This piece explores materiality, texture, and transparency.
Banana fibre, used in the weft of this piece, is usually considered a waste product, and is left to degrade once the fruit has been harvested, so it is exciting to find another use for it. It is all hand dyed in the studio.
Installation : The dowel this piece is suspended from can rest on nails in the wall. Alternatively, if the piece is able to be suspended in space / in a corner, light is able to filter through the lacework weave structure.
Care : This piece is able to be ironed/steamed.
