‘Observer’ Nightstand Natural Birch

The shape of the Observer nightstand is inspired by a fond childhood memory of designer Yaniv Chen. In his grandmother’s bedroom, her nightstand was a small but charming fixture—topped with night creams, a rotating pile of half‑read books, her gold cat‑eye reading glasses, and, most intriguing of all, a silver, eye‑shaped jewellery box. Quietly gleaming, the box seemed to hold a certain appeal, its presence felt without needing to shout for attention.

For Chen, it was more than just a piece of furniture—it was part of her character: graceful, composed, and a little mysterious. This memory found its way into the design of the Observer nightstand, a piece that reflects the gentle theatre of life at the bedside. Its form is functional yet personal—rooted in memory, sentiment, and the subtle charm of simple elegance.

Structure: Handmade with Birch veneer showcasing a refined, even grain in its natural finish. Finished in a satin polyurethane lacquer for a smooth surface. The interior is fully lined with matching Birch veneer, and the three drawers are fitted with soft-close runners for a gentle, seamless glide.

The veneer is expertly joined to maintain the natural flow of grain and color, preserving its understated beauty. Subtle variations in tone, grain pattern, and shading are part of the wood’s inherent character, ensuring each piece is one of a kind.
