Description

A terracotta portrait of a young child by Swedish artist Birgit Wiberg-Stefelt (1915–2002), made circa 1950s. Modelled with a raw, expressive touch, it carries both intimacy and quiet sculptural confidence. Trained in Stockholm and Paris, Wiberg-Stefelt exhibited widely across Sweden and is represented in several public collections, among them the Supreme Court in Stockholm. She remains largely forgotten today — making this a rare find from a quietly accomplished hand. Signed by the artist.
