Description
The Lugh lamp, named after the Celtic god of light and craftsmanship. A hand-bent, shaped, and welded steel frame supports this piece, allowing light to glow softly through both the shade and base. The paper’s unique texture is achieved through a traditional Japanese process called Momigami, meaning ‘kneaded paper.’ Giving it remarkable resilience.
The bark of ancient oaks, gathered only from trees that have fallen naturally, is soaked and boiled to release a dark, tannin-rich dye. Used to dye this paper with a warm, earthy tan, like the memory of the tree held in its fibers. Revered in folklore, the oak symbolized strength, wisdom, and endurance.
Each lamp is handmade, with no two being exactly alike, subtle variations in symmetry and form are part of its unique character.
Materials: Steel, Momigami paper, lighting components.
