Description
In 1970s Italy, decorative arts explored bold combinations of materials, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern lines. This tray is a perfect example, designed as both an elegant and decorative object. Italian production, designer unattributed. The structure rests on a woven wicker base with a regular and controlled weave, framed by a transparent plexiglass railing.
The corners and uprights are made of finely fluted brass, lending a graphic presence and a subtle contrast between naturalness and sophistication. The entire piece is meticulously assembled, in the spirit of high-end Italian productions of the decade. The condition is very good. The brass has a uniform patina, without any significant oxidation. The plexiglass is clear, without any noticeable cracks or chips. The wicker is sound, taut, and without sagging.
