Description
A commanding presence on any table or shelf, this large ceramic plate is the work of Eva Jancke-Björk (1882–1981), the Swedish ceramicist whose career spanned nearly four decades at the Bo Fajans ceramic factory. The handmade plate is defined by a thick, rope-twist rim modelled in clay, its warm beige craquelure glaze lending the piece an almost archaeological depth. Generous enough to serve as a fruit bowl, it makes for an equally beautiful decorative centrepiece.
A rare and substantial example of Swedish modernism. Measurements: Diameter 37 cm (14.6 inch), Height 6.5 cm (2.6 inch)
