Description
In 1980s Italy, burl walnut experienced a resurgence in popularity, driven by a taste for noble materials and highly refined finishes. This box is a precise illustration of that trend. Italian piece, produced in the 1980s. Burl walnut veneer wood structure, glossy varnish, red lacquered interior. Solid, fitted lid, with a rare feature: it can be positioned in both directions, allowing for either a classic closure or a presentation revealing a visible red tray. A functional detail that subtly alters the perception of the object. Very good overall condition. Some micro-scratches from use, visible in glancing light, consistent with its age. Clean interior, no missing parts.
