Description
In the late 1970s, Italian design focused on small-batch production, where the quality of materials and the precision of proportions took precedence over any decorative effect. This box is part of this tradition of functional objects, designed to last.
Italian production, designer unattributed. The body combines a silver-plated metal veneer with a brass frame, highlighting a lid incorporating a glass panel, in the style of Italian productions of the period. The base is made of solid olive wood, chosen for its dense and expressive grain. The interior is entirely lined with finely fitted wood. The whole piece testifies to meticulous craftsmanship and precise manufacturing.
The condition is very good. The metal and brass have a light, even patina, consistent with its age. The olive wood is sound, without cracks, and has a beautiful depth of color. The glass is in good condition, without chips.
The dimensions are balanced: approximately 17 cm long, 12 cm wide and 4 cm high.
An ideal piece for a desk, bookcase or console table, to discreetly and elegantly display jewelry, accessories or collectibles.
