Description
In 1930s Italy, Art Deco was expressed through utilitarian objects with simple lines, where the work of precious wood interacted with metallic elements with geometric accents.
Italian Art Deco rectangular box, circa 1930s, unattributed. Solid veneered wood structure, likely burl, displaying a rich and deep grain. The lid is decorated with a linear silver-plated metal motif, forming a tiered pattern, with a central cylindrical handle. The interior is compartmentalized, designed for organized and functional use.
In excellent condition. Some light signs of wear and patina on the wood, consistent with its age. The metal shows slight oxidation, without affecting the legibility of the decoration.
Balanced size, approximately 19 cm long, 10 cm wide and 6 cm high.
Can be used as a jewelry box, desk box or display item, placed on a desk or console.
