Description
In 1970s Italy, plexiglass combined with bakelite paved the way for a new approach to domestic design: clean lines, bold volumes and a subtle interplay between transparency and material.
This set comprises a trinket tray and a box produced during this period. The trinket tray, 16 cm wide and 4.5 cm high, is constructed of molded plexiglass and brown Bakelite, typical of Italian workshops of the time. The rectangular box measures 6 cm high, 11 cm wide, and 20 cm long. Its thick plexiglass lid highlights the meticulous attention to detail in its craftsmanship.
Both pieces are in very good condition for their age. The surfaces show slight, even signs of wear, consistent with their 1970s manufacture.
This set will naturally find its place on a desk, console or bookcase, to organize small objects with discretion and elegance.
