Description
Goons is a design studio based in Paris. Focusing on artisanal approach, the atelier is dedicated to exploring simple unique concepts executed with precision.
The Free Plan Bench draws from Le Corbusier’s architectural “free plan” concept, one of his Five Points of Modern Architecture. Two planes define the piece: the bench seat and the floor on which it rests. Within this framework, the legs can be positioned in any configuration, liberating the design from conventional benchmaking constraints.
With this freedom, the designers placed the legs at unorthodox angles and concealed all structural details. The absence of visible attachments between the seat and legs shifts attention from function to form. The result is a clear example of how Goons’ work inhabits the intersection of architecture, furniture, and sculpture.
The size and finish/color are customizable.
