Description
In 1960s Murano, decorative glass explored free forms, achieved directly through hot working. This ashtray is a faithful illustration of this, where the material guides the design more than the line. Made in Murano in the 1960s, this piece is crafted from thick, blown glass, tinted a warm amber, with a pink base visible through the glass. Its shape evokes an open corolla, with wavy, irregular edges typical of handcrafted glass.
The inclusions of bubbles attest to the deliberate craftsmanship characteristic of Murano glass from this period. Production attributable to the Murano workshops, without apparent signature. The condition is excellent. No chips or cracks. The glass retains all its clarity and brilliance. The bubbles and slight variations in shape are original and fully contribute to the piece’s unique character.
