Description
Originating from the studio’s ongoing exploration of the “archaeology of light,” this table lamp was conceived as an intermediary form between a floor lamp and more compact lighting typologies. Following a research journey through Japanese craftsmanship—particularly the discovery of traditional washi paper screens—the designers began searching for parallel artifacts within the history of Western decorative arts. Their investigation led them to medieval French windows that used not glass, but materials such as paper, parchment, or thin stone. From this research emerged the idea of an archaeology of light grounded not in material itself, but in the luminous wave it transmits. This reflection ultimately gave rise to a hybrid object, combining historical inquiry with contemporary lighting typologies.
