« Corne » vase in cast aluminum, 80s

Description

In the 1980s, Italian design explored more sculptural forms, often made of metal, with particular attention paid to volumes and taut lines. Decorative objects then adopted architectural silhouettes, bordering on art and function.

This pair of « Corne » vases is made of cast aluminum. The molding process creates these curved and asymmetrical shapes, which are both compact and dynamic. The surface is then polished, revealing a slightly nuanced satin finish. Italian production, circa 1980. Designer not attributed.

The condition is very good. There are some signs of use and micro-scratches, consistent with age, which contribute to the patina of the metal without altering the perception of the volumes.

Each vase measures 27 cm in height and 12 cm in width. Balanced proportions, easy to integrate into different environments.

To be arranged as a pair on a console or bookshelf, or used as a standalone piece. They work equally well with a few branches or on their own, as sculptural objects.
