Description
Designed by Guy Lefèvre for Roche Bobois in the 70’s, this low table features a rectangular top with a textured copper oxide finish inlaid in formica, set over a recessed brass-plated base. The surface, visually rich and organic in tone, is protected by its lacquered layer. The contrast between the warm, mottled finish of the top and the sharp lines of the brass base reflects Lefèvre’s interest in balancing material texture with formal clarity. The design is part of Lefèvre’s broader body of work for Roche Bobois, where he developed a restrained, architectural language that often emphasized patinated surfaces and precise geometric forms with a touch of Hollywood Regency. The table’s proportions and finish lend it a strong visual presence, while maintaining the low profile typical of his work from the 1970s.
