Description
Cendrier “Emprunte” is an ashtray in patinated bronze, conceived as a contemplative and useful object.
“Emprunte” is a piece of refined minimalism, for the art of smoking, or contemplating, the art in the object. The piece is intended as an invitation to slow down and enjoy a moment of pause. The small opening in the center encourages thoughtful and conscious consumption, transforming its use into a more precious, slower, and meditative moment. Its refined shape accentuates the ephemeral beauty of smoke, while blending harmoniously into its surroundings thanks to the reflective quality of its patina.
The ashtray consists of two parts: a base for ashes and a lid for burning or displayed cigarettes. The two parts are attached to each other by two custom-made screws, sized to fit a cigarette. This mechanism creates a veritable “ceremony of ashes” when the ashtray is emptied. The piece can be used either open or closed.
It is designed by Luc Sciberras and produced in a limited edition in France by Exceptional Craftsmen.
