As part of the Calyx family, this piece draws inspiration from Brancusi’s Bird in Space, capturing an elegant, pared-back form where the lampshade seamlessly flows into the stem. The result is a clean, unfettered silhouette that balances artistry with subtlety.
The distinctive shade is crafted from a delicate twirl of lampshade parchment, lending a soft, natural glow. The wall plate, finished in gesso and gilding, complements the stem which is painted with natural pigments, carefully sanded, and sealed with beeswax for a refined tactile quality.
