When Josefine laid eyes on the design, it stirred tender childhood memories – of visits to her grandmother, Barbro, who cherished delicately engraved glasses from the early 19th century. Moved by the story, the duo chose to name the glassware Barbro in her honor. The Barbro glasses celebrate the elegance of the classical souvenir glass while embracing a contemporary design with a squared cup and sculptural stem.

Each piece is patiently engraved by the hand of a master, possessing its own poetic character. The motifs are hand-sketched by Akua Objects, reflecting their design philosophy. The bow motif symbolizes unity, enriched with Art Deco inspired engravings, while the playful depictions of mushroom, flowers and horses celebrate the beauty of nature, the freedom of galloping and Annika’s horse-filled childhood. 

Together, these elements capture the essence of contemporary elegance, weaving art and the natural world into harmonious form.
