Description
An oval ebonised wood mirror with pokerwork decoration featuring roses, buds and trailing thorned stems running continuously around the broad flat frame. The pyrography is confident and well-observed, the natural warm tone of the burned wood reading against the black ground with quiet precision. Original bevelled mirror plate with foxing and age-related distress consistent with the period. Can be hung horizontally or vertically.
