Goons is a design studio based in Paris. Focusing on artisanal approach, the atelier is dedicated to exploring simple unique concepts executed with precision.
The Art Rocker operates simultaneously as sculpture and functional furniture. The piece pays homage to American artist Richard Artschwager, whose work is known for its deliberate impracticality. Here, the lower edges of an otherwise austere form are carved away to create a gentle rocking motion, introducing an unexpected sense of play.
This natural movement transforms a design-driven object into something that can be used intuitively, without ceremony. Although rockers are not common in contemporary interiors, this piece was conceived as an everyday utensil suited to the rhythms of daily life. Its simplicity invites idling—an activity that often emerges in the unguarded, in-between moments of a routine.
