Description
A striking Art Deco centrepiece in pressed glass, defined by its sculptural scroll handles and finely textured starburst decoration. The softly frosted surface is etched with a repeating geometric motif, creating a gentle diffusion of light across the body.
The looping handles — 2 on each side — give the piece its distinctive rhythm and symmetry, adding both movement and structure to the form. Raised on a circular foot, the bowl has a strong, architectural presence while remaining refined and balanced.
This piece is attributed to Pierre D’Avesn for Daum in France during 1930s. It remains unsigned as were many from this collection, its form, material, and decorative language corresponds the examples associated with this production.
A substantial and sculptural object, well-proportioned and increasingly sought after for its bold yet refined decorative presence.
Very good vintage condition, with light surface wear and minor scratches consistent with age, which do not detract from the overall appearance.
