Pair of Art Deco pewter candle sconces designed by the renowned Swedish artist Edvin Ollers for the Schreuder & Olsson foundry in Stockholm. Dating to 1929, as confirmed by the C8 year mark on the reverse. Designed to hold candles with a diameter of approximately 1.9 cm.
Edvin Ollers (1888–1959) was a multidisciplinary Swedish artist and designer whose work spanned glass, metal, ceramics, and painting. Rooted in Scandinavian craft traditions, his designs bring artistic sensitivity to functional objects intended for everyday use. His work is represented in Sweden’s leading museums.
