Description
A sculptural Art Deco bronze vase produced by GAB (Guldsmedsaktiebolaget), Sweden, in the 1920s–30s.
The vessel is defined by its balanced proportions and restrained elegance. A softly faceted body rises from a stepped foot, flanked by delicate curved handles that lend the piece a subtle architectural rhythm. At the centre, a small relief motif of a youthful archer adds a playful yet refined decorative element.
The bronze has developed a beautiful green-brown patina over time, with rich tonal variations that enhance the sculptural qualities of the form. Stamped GAB and numbered 330 to the underside.
A striking example of Swedish Art Deco metalwork, equally compelling as a sculptural object or vase.
