Description
Designed in the late 1960s by Geoffrey Harcourt for Artifort , the F518 armchair exemplifies the blend of comfort and sculptural rigor characteristic of Dutch design of the period. Harcourt, trained at the Royal College of Art in London, developed here a swivel seat that is both generous and restrained, designed to complement modernist interiors. Produced by Artifort, this model is distinguished by its organic shell resting on a white lacquered metal tulip base.
The structure is covered in original beige fabric, carefully stretched over dense foam, offering gentle yet comfortable support. High-quality craftsmanship, typical of Artifort’s expertise. The piece displays a light, even patina and some signs of wear on the base, consistent with its age and enhancing its authenticity. No structural defects.
