Description
In the 1980s, several European workshops explored aluminum as a sculptural material, seeking to liberate forms from all rigidity. This candlestick is a beautiful example, playing on the idea of a knotted tube to create a graphic and deliberately atypical presence.
Made of solid aluminum, it features a bent and polished finish that highlights the continuity of the metal. No designer or manufacturer is identified, suggesting a small-batch, handcrafted production, typical of the decade.
The condition is very good, with a light patina on the base and surface, consistent with the material and its use. The candlestick measures approximately 46 cm in height and 17 cm in width.
A sculptural piece by nature, it works equally well on its own or as a complementary element in a composition. Ideal on a console or contemporary table, it brings a touch of 80s design that is both discreet and assertive.
