Description
A decorative 19th Century French tapestry depicting pastoral garden scene in the Aubusson weaving tradition.
Likely dating from the late 19th to early 20th century, the tapestry is machine woven and has developed a beautifully softened palette over time. The colours have gently faded into tones of parchment, rose and muted sage.
With its generous scale and mellow colouring, it makes an atmospheric wall hanging, bringing warmth and texture to a room.
France, circa 1900.
Dimensions: 195 cm × 145 cm
