Description
In 1960s Italy, metalwork was characterized by simple, structured forms, often inspired by modern architecture. This large « Column » candlestick is a clear example of this. Made of hand-worked metal, it features the slender lines typical of Italian production of this period. Its geometric, balanced, and deliberately refined profile evokes the research carried out by several workshops in northern Italy during the decade. The condition is very good. The surface has a light, even patina, consistent with its age, which enhances the quality of the metal.
