In the 1970s, Murano glass masters explored freer, more sculptural forms, while maintaining the purity of blown glass. This square ashtray illustrates this search for balance between functionality and volume. Crafted from solid clear glass, it demonstrates precise craftsmanship. The slightly rounded edges and thick base play with the light. Unsigned Italian production, typical of Murano during this period. Very good overall condition. The glass shows some discreet signs of use, consistent with its age. A simple and refined object, it can be used as an ashtray or a pocket emptier on a desk, console or coffee table.
