Description
Originating from Italian production in the 1960s, this « Medusa » candlestick illustrates the taste of the time for sculpted metal pieces, worked into harmonious volumes and intended to structure the table or a console.
Made of cast and polished metal, it incorporates a decorative vocabulary prevalent in Italian design of that decade: a flared base, gently fluted cups, and balanced curved arms. The overall effect is one of meticulous craftsmanship, without ostentation.
The condition is good. The surface has a light patina consistent with its age, which highlights the details and confirms careful preservation. No deformation, perfect stability.
Its proportions — 27 cm long, 16.5 cm high and 10 cm wide — make it an easy object to place, alone or associated with other silver-plated metal pieces.
Ideal on a sideboard, coffee table or fireplace to structure a light composition with sobriety.
