Description
In the early 1960s, Dutch design favored compact, functional, and easily understood forms. The « Buffalo » model embodies this pursuit of a warm modernism, where ergonomics guide the design. Buffalo armchair, Dutch production from the 1960s, designer unknown. Solid wood frame stained black, with seat and back upholstered in black leather. The design is distinguished by its enveloping back extending into short armrests and by its tapered legs, typical of Dutch furniture of the period. Carefully crafted, balanced proportions.
Excellent vintage condition. The wood has a consistent and stable finish. The leather has been recently reupholstered, offering a flawless appearance and comfortable seating. Sound frame. Well-controlled dimensions: width 58 cm, depth 48 cm, height 79 cm. A discreet and precise piece, ideal as an office chair, as an accent in a modernist living room or around a collector’s table.
