Description
A matched pair of French silver-plated cups, stamped CGF, with 4g silver plating.
Defined by their wide 9 cm rims and architectural handles, the design reflects the early Art Deco shift toward clarity of form and purposeful construction. The handles — broad, squared, and cleanly integrated — give the cups a strong graphic presence, moving away from the softer, ornamental lines of earlier styles.
Originally intended for drinking chocolate, coffee or bouillon, they balance weight and proportion with ease, sitting comfortably in the hand while maintaining a composed, sculptural silhouette.
Restrained yet expressive, they embody the quiet modernity of the 1930s — where utility and elegance were brought into alignment.
