Description
In the 1980s, Italian design explored dynamic and fluid forms, often inspired by movement and light. Brandani ‘s Galassia vase fits perfectly within this aesthetic, straddling the line between sculpture and utilitarian object. Crafted from solid aluminum, it is distinguished by its twisted body with subtly curved facets that capture and reflect light in a way that changes depending on the viewing angle. The surface alternates between satin and polished areas, reinforcing the impression of continuous movement. The design is both powerful and controlled, typical of the Italian formal vocabulary of this decade.
The overall condition is very good. The aluminum has a uniform patina, with slight micro-marks consistent with age, and no dents or deformation. The piece is stable and perfectly balanced. An iconic piece of 1980s Italian design, with a strong and elegant presence, ideal for a collection or a contemporary interior sensitive to sculptural forms.
